Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026 · Dwija, operated by Jnana Vahini Labs
This policy explains what data Dwija collects, why, and the choices you have. In short: we store the minimum data needed to run the community, we never sell personal information, and everything you publish is public by design.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google name and profile picture. We do not see your Google password.
- Profile data — the display name and about text you choose to add, plus gamification data such as points and badges earned on the platform.
- Content you publish — posts, philosophy snippets, poems, stotras, forum questions and answers, and marketplace listings, along with likes and votes.
- Chant reminders — if you schedule a reminder, we store the post you want reminded about and the date and time you chose.
- Uploaded images — photos or files you upload when creating a post (for example, to extract text from a scanned page). You can review and correct extracted text before publishing.
- Technical data — basic request logs kept for security and reliability, such as when and from where the service was accessed.
2. How we use data
We use your data only to operate the platform: to sign you in, show your contributions, deliver notifications and scheduled chant reminders, extract text from images you ask us to process, moderate marketplace listings, and keep the service safe from abuse. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
3. Public content
Everything you publish — posts, snippets, forum contributions, and approved marketplace listings — is public. It can be viewed by anyone, including search engines, and appears in your author profile. Do not publish personal information you would not want shared. Marketplace listing photos and details are likewise public once approved by our moderators.
4. Services we rely on
- Hosting and database — the platform runs on managed cloud infrastructure that stores accounts, content, and files on our behalf.
- Google sign-in — if you choose to sign in with Google, authentication is handled by Google. See Google's own privacy terms for how they process your account.
- AI text extraction — when you upload an image to extract stotra or poem text, the image is sent to an AI service for processing. Extracted text is shown to you for review before anything is published.
- Embedded video — where a post includes a YouTube or Vimeo video, that provider may collect viewing data when the player loads, under its own policies.
5. Cookies and local storage
Dwija uses browser local storage only to keep you signed in and to remember your theme and language preference. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your content stays until you delete it. You can delete your own posts, forum contributions, reminders, and marketplace listings from within the app, or contact the maintainers to do it for you. To request a full export or complete deletion of your account and all associated data, contact the maintainers via Jnana Vahini Labs — we will confirm and complete the request.
7. Children
Dwija is intended for members of the community who are old enough to agree to this policy. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
